President Droupadi Murmu, Union ministers and BJP leaders extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, lauding his leadership and commitment to public service.
In her message, President Murmu credited Modi with setting new benchmarks in good governance and giving fresh momentum and direction to inclusive development.
“Over the past 25 years, during your tenure as chief minister and prime minister, you have established many new benchmarks of good governance and imparted unprecedented momentum and a new direction to inclusive development,” the President said in a post.
She added that, while advancing on the path of modern progress with a sense of cultural pride, Indians are realising the harmony between heritage and development.
Modi was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Modi as the “world’s most popular leader” and the architect of “New India” in his birthday message.
“Heartfelt birthday greetings to the world's most popular leader, the visionary of 'One India - Excellent India', the architect of 'New India', and our guide, the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji,” Adityanath said in a post. He also praised Modi’s commitment to “Nation First” and public welfare, calling it an inspiration for achieving the goal of a “Developed India”.
BJP president Nitin Nabin also wished the prime minister good health and a long life, saying India was scaling new heights of development and self-reliance under his guidance.
“Heartfelt birthday wishes to the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the leader of 140 crore people of the country and the embodiment of service to the nation and dedication,” Nabin said.
Nabin had earlier appealed to citizens to light a diya at their homes between 6 pm and 7 pm on September 17, marking Modi’s birthday, and pray for his good health and continued success.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also hailed Modi’s political journey, saying that India’s global prestige and influence had reached unprecedented heights under his leadership.
Modi is set to complete 25 years in continuous executive office on October 7, having served as Gujarat chief minister for more than a decade before becoming prime minister in 2014.
