A group of 15–20 people allegedly vandalised and pelted stones at the Khan Global Coaching Institute in Patna, founded by educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as ‘Khan Sir’, on Wednesday. A firing incident was also reported at the institution, though police have not confirmed it.
Patna Police stated that they received information around 10:10 pm on Tuesday regarding the vandalism and stone-pelting at the institute, which falls under the jurisdiction of Kadamkuan Police Station.
“A police team was immediately dispatched to the site, and an investigation has been launched,” the statement said.
Preliminary inquiries suggest that the alleged perpetrators, numbering 15–20, may have ties to another coaching institute in Patna. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and have identified several suspects.
Khan claimed that the attackers assaulted the security guard and fired shots. “Their primary grievance seems to be how someone can teach students at such a low cost while producing thousands of results each year,” he said, adding that the incident occurred while classes were in session.
He also confirmed that a named FIR has been lodged. “The FIR has been filed. The police investigation is ongoing, and all footage has been handed over. There are 20 CCTV cameras installed across the institute,” he said.
Meanwhile, dozens of students gathered outside the coaching centre on Wednesday, raising slogans in protest against the attack, despite a heavy security presence in the area.
