A fresh twist has been revealed in the death of Prateek Yadav, the stepson of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, with his postmortem report declaring that he died of a possible blood clot in the lungs.
Specifically, the report noted that the death of the 38-year-old on Wednesday, which comes after he suddenly fell ill at his residence, was a “cardiorespiratory collapse due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism".
The postmortem report also noted that Prateek's entire heart—as well as the pulmonary thromboembolic material—had been preserved in formalin for a detailed examination later.
The Postmortem Report from King George's Medical University in Lucknow of Prateek Yadav lists cardiorespiratory collapse due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism as the cause of death, mentioning six "antemortem" (before death) injuries found on his body.

The viscera would also be put through a chemical analysis later.
Notably, the postmortem report also mentions that all six injuries found on his body appeared before his death, sparking questions of possible foul play. While three of these injuries were estimated to be almost a week old, the other three were found to be just a day old.
Pulmonary thromboembolism is a serious medical condition caused by blood clots blocking arteries in the lungs, which can severely impact breathing and blood circulation.
This comes after the fitness entrepreneur's long-term struggle with lung issues, an NDTV report said.
Despite belonging to one of the most prominent political families in Uttar Pradesh, he stayed away from active politics and focused on business and fitness ventures.
Educated at the University of Leeds in the UK, Prateek was an entrepreneur in the real estate and fitness sectors. He owned a gym in Lucknow named 'Iron Core Fit', and was also involved in animal welfare through his organisation 'Jeev Ashray', which worked for stray dogs.
Earlier this year, Prateek had also drawn attention after publicly speaking about marital issues with his wife and BJP leader Aparna Yadav via social media posts in which he alleged strains in family relationships and stated that he wanted to seek a divorce.
“I am going to divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible. She ruined my family ties. All she wants is to become famous and influential," he had written at the time. However, they did not pursue the divorce case further.
