The probe into the alleged rape murder of a 22-year-old woman at her Delhi residence revealed that the accused had fled his home village after raping a friend’s wife. Rahul, 19, allegedly arrived in the national capital the next day and killed the young woman — his ex-employer's daughter.
Having sexually assaulted two women in two days hints at the depraved mentality of the accused. However, psychoanalysis will have to wait as the police are yet to confirm the motive for the murder.
A habitual offender?
Rahul raped the wife of one of his friends in his village in Alwar before fleeing for Delhi, NDTV said in a report. The two families shared a bond, as Rahul's family had lived on rent at the other's property in the past, the news report said. The survivor's husband used to play Ludo with Rahul, further strengthening the tie. Notably, his addiction to online gaming was among the reasons that cost him his job at the residence of the IRS officer-doctor couple.

Rahul used to borrow money from domestic helps in the area and spent it on games. He never had any intention of repaying any of his creditors, and it became a problem. The teenager was asked to leave about a month ago.
After raping the woman in Alwar, he reached Delhi the very next day. He gained access to the house without any struggle, and the police suspect he never returned the spare key he was given as part of the job. The parents of the victim were out for a walk when he entered the house. The police believe that the girl, who was preparing for the UPSC after graduating from an IIT, was sexually assaulted and strangled to death using the cable of a mobile phone charger.
Rahul was reportedly caught on CCTV visuals at the crime scene. As the police investigation reached Alwar, the raped woman, through her kin, revealed the circumstances that led to his trip to Delhi.
The police suspect Rahul held a grudge towards the IRS officer's family for firing him, but the motive for the crime can only be established after further probe. He was arrested from Dwarka while hiding after the crime.
