On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that India will never bow to any form of terror and that the heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed.

"Remembering the innocent lives lost in the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack on this day last year. They will never be forgotten," Modi said in a post on X on Wednesday. The Prime Minister added that his thoughts are also with the bereaved families as they cope with this loss. "As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed," he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday remembered those killed in the Pahalgam terror attack last year and said India will continue its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and those who harbour it. In a message posted on X, the Home Minister said, "The grief and pain of losing our people still remains in the heart of every Indian."

"Terrorism is the greatest enemy of humanity, against which we must stand united to fight and defeat. India will continue its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and those who harbour it," he said.

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi asserted that India will never forget the "cowardly and inhuman act" and paid tributes to the innocent civilians who lost their lives.

"Humble tributes to all the innocent civilians who lost their lives in the cowardly terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam on this very day a year ago," Devi said in a post on X.

"This is a dark chapter of cowardice and inhumanity that the nation can never forget," she added.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge  said the spirit of India stands unbroken and united against every act of terrorism. The Congress chief paid tribute to those killed in the attack and also saluted the valour and sacrifice of the armed forces, who fought with unbridled determination and fortitude during Operation Sindoor.

"My humble tribute to the 26 citizens who lost their lives during the Pahalgam terror attack on this day in 2025. The nation will never forget nor forgive the sacrifices of innocent citizens. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the bereaved families who lost their loved ones," he said in a post on X.

"We also remember our citizens at the border who lost their precious lives due to cross-border shelling. Their sacrifice is etched in the conscience of the nation. The spirit of India stands unbroken, resolute, and united against every act of terrorism," Kharge said.

The Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out the attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on this day last year, killing 26 innocent people, mostly tourists from across India. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, India carried out a retaliatory military offensive against Pakistan named Operation Sindoor, in which Indian armed forces destroyed military and terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
