AIADMK-led NDA member Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has officially completed its seat distribution, announcing candidates for all its seats. Only three names were declared earlier by the Anbumani Ramadoss-led faction of the party, which is largely backed by the Vanniyar community in Tamil Nadu.

In the new list, it was confirmed that Thilagabama will contest for the opposition alliance against superstar Vijay for the Perambur seat. Sowmiya Anbumani, wife of Anbumani Ramadoss, will fight for the Dharmapuri seat.

In the first candidate list, it was declared that PMK General Secretary S. Vadivel Ravanan will contest from Keezhvelur along with State Deputy President N. Sekar, who was allotted Ambattur. A. Ganesh Kumar was the third person to enter the poll fray, contesting from Gingee.

Perambur is predominantly a working-class area. DMK and the AIADMK have won the constituency in earlier elections, but it has been a DMK bastion since 2019. Presently represented by R.D. Sekar from the DMK, the constituency will witness a tight contest this time with Vijay in the fray. Many think that Perambur being a semi-urban constituency with a sizeable working population, the PMK's strength may not suffice to fight a mighty DMK candidate and a charismatic player like Vija
