Delhi police have taken a self-styled tantrik practitioner from the north east of the city in relation to the three bodies found inside a car on Sunday.

The accused is currently being questioned to establish possible links between the two men and the woman found inside the parked car on Peeragarhi flyover.
Authorities said that the three victims met the baba in Peeragarhi in the morning around 10:30 am before returning in the afternoon around 3 pm.

Police also said that their deaths could have been caused by poison.

On Sunday, police discovered three unconscious persons, now identified as Randhir (76), Shiv Naresh (47) and Laxmi Devi (40) inside a parked vehicle. Once the vehicle was opened, all three occupants were dead.

Investigators showed that the three had known each other for a long time. Randhir and Shiv Naresh were involved in real estate, and Laxmi worked in home care services, providing medical assistance to the elderly.

CCTV footage from Sunday showed the tantrik practitioner seated in front of the car with Randhi.

Sources said that the man was acquainted with the three and met them shortly before they died.

A senior Delhi police official, however, warned against speculation, saying, “All aspects of the investigation are open. We are questioning people and trying to recreate the sequence of events to understand what might have happened.”

Police said that nothing suspicious emerged after reviewing the background of the three victims. Police recovered about three liquor bottles and three used disposable glasses near the car. Vomit was found in the mouths of Shiv Naresh and Laxmi, and no external injuries were seen on any of the bodies. One officer involved in the preliminary medical examination said that the plastic bottle and glasses contained traces of poison.

Police said that the viscera of all three have been preserved for chemical analysis to determine the exact cause of death and to rule out possible poisoning or harmful substances.
