The Lok Sabha on Tuesday suspended eight opposition MPs over 'unruly behaviour' after they tore papers and tossed them at the Chair. They also tried to climb on to the table of the Secretary General.

These included seven Congress MPs and one from CPI-M. Their suspension will continue for the remaining part of the Budget Session, which concludes on April 2.

Who are the 8 suspended MPs?

The suspended members include Congress MPs Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Hibi Eden, Dean Kuriakose, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, C. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Manickam Tagore, Prashant Padole and CPI-M MP S. Ventakesan.

After multiple adjournments, the House met at 3 pm. Dilip Saikia, who was in the Chair, named the eight MPs for misbehaving.

Later, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju read out a resolution seeking suspension of the eight members who acted in utter disregard to the House and the authority of the Chair.

After the resolution was passed by a voice vote, the proceedings were adjourned for the day.

Soon, Rahul Gandhi and other Congress MPs staged a protest outside Parliament building against the suspension of party members.

The ruckus at Lok Sabha began on Monday afternoon after Rahul Gandhi was stopped from citing an article based on excerpts from an unpublished 'memoir' of former Army chief M M Naravane on India-China conflict of 2020.
