Movement of several suspected Pakistani drones was detected in multiple forward areas along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC), prompting Indian troops to open fire, on Sunday evening.
According to the officials, the drones entered from the Pakistani side and hovered briefly over Indian territory before returning. The sightings occurred between 6.30 pm and 7.15 pm in several border villages, including Gania-Kalsia in the Nowshera sector, Dharmsal in Kalakote, Khabbar village in Teryath, and Chak Babral in Ramgarh.
Indian Army personnel fired from light and medium machine guns and activated counter-drone measures after observing the aerial objects. A ground search operation has also been launched in the affected areas.

Earlier, on Friday night, security forces recovered an arms consignment allegedly dropped by a drone from Pakistan in Paloora village of Ghagwal near the IB in Samba district. The seized items included two pistols, three magazines, 16 rounds of ammunition and a grenade.
On Saturday, a suspicious pigeon was caught in Kharah village near the LoC in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu. The pale grey pigeon, bearing two black bars on each wing, had red and yellow rings on its legs inscribed with “Rehmat Sarkar” and “Rizwan 2025,” followed by certain numbers.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, security agencies launched a massive search operation in Kanachak near the International Border after intelligence agencies intercepted satellite phone communications believed to be linked to suspected terrorists.
