Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party chief Nainar Nagenthran targeted the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government in the state and charged that several temples have been demolished under the Stalin regime. Nagenthran also called the DMK government "anti-spiritual."
The BJP organised various events as part of Pongal celebrations in Coimbatore on Sunday. BJP national working president Nitin Nabin also took part in the celebrations. During an outreach programme on the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)(VB–G RAM G) programme, Nagenthran accused the DMK government of spreading falsehoods against the scheme.
Nagenthran charged, "The DMK is a party that lies and then tries to make it appear as the truth; the chief minister has been making incorrect statements about this scheme."
On upcoming assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, Nagenthran said the DMK government has included cash gift of Rs 3,000 in Pongal kit for votes. Targeting the DMK over corrupt electoral practices, the Tamil Nadu BJP leader said voters should take money from the DMK and vote for NDA in the elections.

Accusing the DMK of acting against the Hindu faith, the BJP leader charged, "DMK government is anti-spiritual; under this regime, many temples have been demolished." He also targeted the state government over Thiruparankundram deepam row and said the government failed to light the lamp on the hill.
BJP national working president Nitin Nabin charged the people of the state are "deeply dissatisfied" with the DMK government.
"The people of Tamil Nadu are deeply dissatisfied with the DMK government's administrative failures. Our dedicated karyakartas are fully prepared and committed to taking the noble vision of a corruption-free, prosperous Tamil Nadu under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi- National Democratic Alliance to every house and every polling booth," Nabin said.
