A major fire broke out in two coaches of the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express near Elamanchili railway station, close to Visakhapatnam, in Andhra Pradesh early Monday morning, resulting in one fatality.
The deceased has been identified as Chandrasekhar Sundaram, a resident of Vijayawada.

According to officials, one of the affected coaches had 82 passengers, while the other had 76 when the fire started.
The fire broke out in the B1 AC coach and quickly spread to the neighboring coach. Railway officials immediately halted the train and evacuated the passengers to safety.
“Unfortunately, a dead body was found in the B1 AC coach,” said Anakapalle Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. Train services on the route were briefly disrupted following the incident.
The damaged coaches were later detached from the train, which continued its journey toward Ernakulam. Passengers from the affected coaches will be sent to their destinations, the officials said.
