The Ghaziabad Police has filed an FIR against two students for engaging in obscene acts  inside the executive coach of a premium coach of the Namo Bharat Rapid Train. The incident came to light after the video of the incident was leaked by the train operator.

The incident occurred on November 24 on the Namo Bharat train from Duhai to  Muradnagar. The couple engaged in indecent and obscene acts inside the train's  premium coach number 23. The female student is seen wearing her college uniform with an ID card and visible college logo, while the male student is wearing a white sweater. Although nearby seats appear vacant, a woman passenger can be seen seated a few rows behind them, facing the opposite direction.

The duo was subsequently identified and a notice was sent to both institutions seeking details.

Both have been charged with violating the dignity of a public place. The case has been  registered under Sections 296 and 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.

However, a few days after the incident, the police and the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which operated the Namo Bharat trains, received information that a train operator had used a mobile phone inside the cabin to record the video. An inquiry was ordered, and it was revealed that an operator named Rishabh had used his phone to record the video, which is a direct violation of company rules and standing orders.

Following this, the operator was dismissed from service after it was revealed that he flouted the norms stipulated by the NCRTC against using a mobile phone without  authorisation.
