Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, the absconding owners of the Goa nightclub that caught fire last week were detained in Thailand on Thursday.
Caught early in the morning from a hotel in Thailand, the Luthras were taken to detention centres in Thailand's Phuket, after which they are expected to be deported to India by Friday, after processing.
Visuals of the arrest showed the brothers in handcuffs, awaiting extradition processes.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had suspended their passports after a formal request from the Goa police.
Yet, they managed to escape as they had allegedly booked tickets for Phuket barely an hour after a massive fire broke out at their Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa's Arpora village, which killed 25 people.

Interpol also issued a Blue Corner notice against the brothers on Tuesday, used to monitor the activities of a person of interest in a criminal probe.
Shocking revelations emerge
Apart from the timing of their departure to Thailand—less than an hour after the Goa nightclub fire—which the Luthras have claimed was a business trip to Thailand, it has also come to light that the brothers were using the SIM card of their ex-driver, Ram Hari Singh, without his knowledge, as per an NDTV report.
The report added that Singh had been Saurabh's driver for two years until 2020 lockdown, after which he was let go. He also claimed that since his exit, he had had no contact with the brothers.
In that regard, a New Delhi court has also declined to grant the brothers interim protection from arrest as the state government prepares an inquiry report into the tragedy, ramps up safety audits at entertainment venues, and begins disbursing compensation for the victims’ families.
