The Goa police on Thursday charged the Luthra brothers, facing probe in connection with the Goa nightclub fire, with misleading investigators and not cooperating with the probe. Police told a Delhi court that the siblings on the run gave misleading accounts about the reason for leaving India.
A Delhi court on Thursday heard the anticipatory bail pleas moved by Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub in North Goa. The court will pronounce a verdict on the relief sought by the accused later today.
Meanwhile, Thailand police have detained the brothers on the run at the hotel where they were staying. They are expected to be deported to India soon.

Goa police informed court, "There is no cooperation on the part of Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, which disentitled them for extraordinary protection by this court. They have no business in Thailand. They left the country on December 7. Though they said that they had left on the night of December 6. Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra misled the court, misled the authorities and left the country," ANI reported.
As many as 25 people died in the deadly fire at the nightclub in Goa's Arpora district on December 7. The deceased include tourists and over 20 of them were staff members, who got trapped in the basement and kitchen area of the club. According to investigators, most of them died due to suffocation.
Police had said the Luthra brothers escaped from India while rescue forces were battling to douse the fire at the club. The accused booked tickets via MakeMyTrip platform only at 1.17am on December 7.
