The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested a Faridabad resident who had allegedly harboured suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi before the Delhi car blast.

The accused, identified as Soyab, a resident of Dhauj in Faridabad, is the seventh person to be arrested in connection with the case.

According to the central agency, Soyab not only harboured Umar before the attack but also provided logistical support crucial to the execution of the blast.

Thirteen people were killed and several others were injured after a slow-moving i20 car exploded near the historic Red Fort in the national capital on November 10. The man behind the wheel has been identified as Umar Un Nabi, a Kashmiri doctor linked to the Al Falah University in Faridabad.

The NIA had already arrested six close aides of Umar in connection with the attack. The agency claimed that the latest arrest has strengthened its understanding of the operational network behind the bombing.

"The agency continues to pursue various leads in connection with the suicide bombing, and has been conducting searches across states in coordination with the respective police forces in a bid to identify and track others involved in the gruesome attack," an NIA spokepserson said.

Those arrested earlier are alleged to be at the centre of a 'white collar' terror module busted by Jammu and Kashmir police along with their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Investigations led to the Al Falah university in Faridabad where 2,900 kg of explosives was recovered.
