A powerful blast rocked Mishri Bazaar area in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on Wednesday. As many as six people suffered injuries in the blast, and Uttar Pradesh police have launched a massive probe to determine the cause of the explosion.
According to police, the blast occurred around 7.15pm near Markaz Masjid in the Mishri Bazaar area on Wednesday evening. Two scooters parked in the area went up in flames, injuring six people, including a woman.
Kanpur Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Ashutosh Kumar said, "This incident took place around 7.15pm and a total of 6 people are injured, including one woman. All are undergoing treatment and are out of danger."

The police officer said they have traced the whereabouts of the scooter, and the cause of the blast will be ascertained soon. "Our forensic team is present at the scene, and we are investigating what could be the cause of this. We have traced the scooter, and inquiries will also be made with those who were riding it. Whether this is an accident or a conspiracy will only be known later," Kumar added.
