Five people were killed in a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus accident in Thalappady village in Kasaragod district in Kerala. The village is located along the Kerala-Karnataka border.
According to a Malayala Manorama report, the accident occurred when the bus rammed into a waiting shed after a brake failure. The bus was coming from Karnataka to Kasaragod when the accident happened.

The bus, that was over speeding, also rammed into an auto that was parked nearby.
Three people who were inside the auto and two others who were in the bus waiting shed were killed in the accident.
According to a report in Matrhubhumi, the deceased include three women. The auto driver too reportedly died in the accident.
Three people reportedly sustained serious injuries in the accident. They have been shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
The details of the deceased and those who sustained injuries in the accident haven't been revealed yet.
