Heightened security arrangements are in place for Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the wake of the recent attack on her.
According to officials, 40 personnel are being permanently deployed for her safety, and various other measures are being taken accordingly.
Previously, the Union Home Ministry had directed the CRPF to extend Z-category cover to the CM, which was withdrawn later. Instead, the Delhi Police has taken over her protection and accorded her Z+ cover with additional deployment.
What are the other security arrangements:
Every visitor will be thoroughly frisked and verified before entering the premises, an official said. To ensure there are no lapses, a layered system of security has been designed.
The Delhi Police will manage the two-circle security system that will oversee the protection of the CM.
In the inner ring, two armed bodyguards will remain stationed slightly ahead of the CM, ready to shield her in case of any untoward situation, while other bodyguards will maintain a 360-degree vigil to identify threats at the earliest stage, reported PTI.

Meanwhile, the outer ring will oversee public access, frisking and crowd control during her engagements.
The changes in the security arrangements are being processed after the recent attack on the CM during a 'Jan Sunwai', which her office had termed the assault as a 'well-planned conspiracy to kill her'. Two people have been arrested in connection with the attack.
"The safety of the chief minister cannot be compromised. We have drawn up strict guidelines for all her future programmes. From access control to the positioning of security personnel, everything will be closely monitored," an official said to PTI.
