Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship initiative ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ (PPC) entered the Guinness World Record for "most people registered on a citizen engagement platform in one month", the Ministry of Education (MoE) announced recently.

In PPC, PM Modi directly interacts with students, teachers, and parents, with an objective to transform the examination season "into a festival of positivity, preparation, and purposeful learning".

According to the ministry, the eighth edition of the PPC programme got 3.53 crore valid registrations, and garnered over 21 crore viewers across various media platforms.

Calling the achievement a “matter of great delight and personal satisfaction”, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the programme aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s vision of holistic learning and emotional well-being. He also highlighted the fact that of the four initiatives of the Narendra Modi government that have been recognised by Guinness of World Records so far, two have come during his tenure as a cabinet minister – PAHAL, the world’s largest direct benefit transfer scheme for LPG, with 12.57 crore households getting cash transfer as of June 30, 2015.

The education ministry have, reportedly, spent Rs 64.38 crore on Pariksha Pe Charcha since 2020.
