Indian Army has denied reports of ceasefire violation along theLine of Control in Poonch by pakistani troops. The alleged violation comes on day when the nation is commemorating sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
"There have been some media and social media reports regarding ceasefire violations in the Poonch region. It is clarified that there has been no ceasefire violation along the Line of Control," the Army said. Reports emerged that Pakistani troops carried out unprovoked firing across LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector, and Indian troops responded effectively and gave a befitting reply.
Reportedly, the exchange of fire lasted for 15 minutes. Reports of ceasefire violation emerges after two months of peace along the LoC in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor ceasefire talks.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 and destroyed nine terror bases along the LoC to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack. Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists with alleged Pakistani links killed 26 people in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. The deceased include 24 tourists, a Nepali citizen and a local horse rider.
