A senior revenue officer and Jammu and his son were killed in a landslide in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi. The officer's wife and two others suffered serious injuries in the tragic incident.
According to reports, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rajinder Singh Rana and his son died in the landslide after a huge boulder fell on their vehicle while they were travelling in Reasi. According to officials, the incident occurred Thursday night in the Salukh Ikhter Nallah area when Rana was on his travelling along with his family to his native village, Pattian, from Dharmari.

A large boulder, part of a landslide, struck their vehicle, killing Rana and his son on the spot, authorities said. A senior official said the injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, and after primary treatment, the critically injured were referred to the district hospital in Reasi.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha offered his condolences to the SDM's family. "Extremely saddened by the landslide incident in Dharmari, Reasi, in which we have lost an outstanding officer, Rajinder Singh, SDM Ramnagar, and his son," he said on X.
Earlier this week, two army men were killed after a boulder fell on their vehicle in eastern Ladakh.
