Though the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, had asked the opposition to cooperate so that the proceedings of the Vidhan Sabha could go on smoothly, this was a useless wish. A huge ruckus was created by the Opposition almost as soon as the day’s business started with the Governor’s address.

Members of the Opposition came into the well and started shouting ‘Governor Go Back, Governor Go Back”.

In the opening lines of her address, Anandiben Patel spoke about the honour of hosting the Mahakumbh 2025 which has set new benchmarks for cleanliness, security and seamless management. "The event beautifully showcases a remarkable blend of faith and modernity", the Governor was reading when the Opposition started to heckle her.

Before the start of the session, Adityanath briefly interacted with the media and said that though the opposition would be bristling at the recent poll losses, it should allow the Houses to run smoothly.

The budget session of the Vidhan Sabha has started on Tuesday.

Before the start of the House, the CM had expressed the hope that the Opposition would not enter the House with the bitterness of the loss and would make constructive contributions during this important session in which the budget is to be presented. He also said that the government was open to discussing whatever issues that the Opposition wished to bring to the House.

He called for ‘sarthak’ (meaningful) discussion. And that he would want to observe an Opposition that was determined but within parliamentary norms. The Opposition should behave in such a manner that they uphold the highest parliamentary traditions. "It is the duty of both the government and the Opposition," he said. But those remarks had little effect on the Opposition.
