Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to soldiers martyred in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Friday. Remembering the soldiers’ valour, Modi said the next generation will remember their valour.
In a heartfelt note on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said, “Homage to the courageous heroes we lost in Pulwama in 2019. The coming generations will never forget their sacrifice and their unwavering dedication to the nation.”

One of the worst terror strikes, the suicide attack on security forces happened on February 14, 2019. A suicide bomber driving an explosive-laden vehicle crashed the car into a convoy of buses ferrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel at Pulwama. As many as 40 CRPF personnel were killed in the attack.

Days later, India launched a retaliatory attack and bombed terror launch pads across the Line of Control. India retaliated by bombing the JeM camp in Balakot, Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It was the first time since the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war that Indian fighter jets crossed the Line of Control.
Indian Air Force’s 12 Mirage 2000 aircraft were deployed for the operation and bombs were dropped on terror camps in Pakistan, which were said to have been "completely destroyed".
