Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray met former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in the national capital on Thursday and charged elections are not being held in a fair manner in the country. Thackeray was accompanied by senior MPs Priyanka Chaturvedi and Sanjay Raut.
Calling the visit a friendly gesture, Thackeray said, "Governments keep coming and going but relationships continue. We met Kejriwal as a gesture of friendship.” The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader reportedly discussed the results of the recently held Delhi Assembly polls with Kejriwal. AAP, which was aiming for a third consecutive term, lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Delhi Assembly polls. The AAP managed to win only 22 seats in the election held to the 70-member Delhi Assembly. Including Arvind Kejriwal, key leaders of the party lost the election.

“Our democracy is not free and fair. Elections are not free and fair," Thackeray charged after meeting Kejriwal. Thackeray reportedly also discussed the future of the INDIA bloc with Kejriwal.
Accusing the Election Commission of “large-scale manipulation” in voters’ list, Thackeray charged it affected the results in assembly election states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Odisha and Delhi.
"The EC has snatched people's right to vote. It is not even ready to discuss this issue," he charged.
