After the BJP trounced the AAP in the Delhi assembly elections on Saturday, an old video of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not be able to beat his party has resurfaced.
The 2023 video, which was taken during an AAP workers' conference in Delhi, shows the former Delhi chief minister addressing the party functionaries. "Their intention is to topple the AAP government, and Narendra Modi ji wants to form a government in Delhi this way," he says in the clip.

Kejriwal said the BJP knows they cannot defeat the AAP through elections, adding that Narendra Modi cannot defeat his party in this life. "You will have to take another birth to defeat us in Delhi," he added.
Taking a jab at the AAP supremo, the BJP Delhi unit shared the clip with edited comic reactions on its X handle, saying, "Aur bhai, aa gaya swad?" (Have you got the taste now?)
The BJP won in 48 seats while AAP with just 22 seats saw many of its senior leaders losing, including Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Satyendar Jain. In the triangular contest, the Congress drew a blank, repeating the results in 2015 and 2020.
Following his defeat in the New Delhi assembly constituency, Kejriwal said the party will play role of a constructive opposition and continue to serve the people of Delhi. He added that the AAP is not in politics for power and thanked they party workers for their hard work.
Congratulating the BJP for its win, Kejriwal said he accepts people's mandate with humility, hoping that the new government would fulfil the people's expectations.
BJP leader Parvesh Verma who defeated Kejriwal in New Delhi seat is among the frontrunners to become the next Delhi chief minister. Other CM candidates from BJP include former Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta who defeated AAP's Pardeep Mittal in Rohini, BJP Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva, Harish Khurana who won against AAP's Shivcharan Goel and late Sushma Swaraj's daughter Bansuri Swaraj.
