A scary road accident from Maharashtra's Pimpri-Chinchwad was caught on camera on Wednesday which showed a speeding car hitting a woman who was crossing the road. In the impact of the accident, the woman flung a few metres before crashing on the road, the video showed.

The greivously injured woman is being admitted at a private hospital, reports said. 

The video showed the woman crossing the road behind two other younger women before being rammed by the car. People were quick to rush towards the victim, who remained unable to move in an awkward position on the road, the CCTV visuals showed.

It was in the afternoon hours of Wednesday that the accident took place in Pimpri-Chinchwad's Bhosari area (Swaraj Chowk under MIDC Bhosari Police Station limits. ). Earlier reports had claimed that it was the driver of the car that hit the woman stopped and rushed her to the hospital.  He was identified as Vinay Vilas Naykere, the son of a police official.


After the brother of the injured woman filed a complaint with the cops, Vinay Vilas Naykere was arrested, India Today said in a report. He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA), the report added.
