Andhra Pradesh Assembly results: Clear lead for Chandrababu Naidu's TDP; YSR Congress in 10

In Telangana, AIMIM candidate Assassudin Owaisi is leading against BJP Madhavi Latha

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is leading in 35 assembly seats as the counting of votes in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly progresses. The ruling YSR Congress has been relegated to 10 seats in the 175 segments. 

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is leading in the Pulivendula Assembly by 1,888 votes over his TDP rival Ravi after the first round. TDP leader Nara Lokesh is ahead of his YSRCP rival M Lavanya by over 4,000 votes in the Mangalagiri Assembly seat.

As for Lok Sabha seats, TDP is leading in 13, Janasena in four and YSRCP in two Lok Sabha seats out of the total 25 Lok Sabha segments. Other prominent people leading include Andhra BJP chief D Purandeswari, who is leading by 22,010 votes in Rajamahendravaram Lok Sabha seat over her YSRCP rival G Srinivas.

In Telangana Lok Sabha elections, there is a tight fight with the Congress leading in five seats and BJP in four. As per reports at 9:30 am, the two candidates of the BRS too were leading. In Hyderabad, AIMIM candidate Assassudin Owaisi is leading against BJP Madhavi Latha.

Local reports hinted that BJP candidates were ahead in Adilabad, Karimnagar and Malkajgiri.

The counting of votes began at 8 am in the state. The election to the 17 LS seats in the state was held in a single phase on May 13.
