‘Release Kejriwal, Hemant Soren immediately; stop attempts to weaken Oppn’, demands Priyanka Gandhi at INDIA rally

Without EVMs and match-fixing, BJP will not cross 180 seats, says Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi demanded that the Election Commission must take measures to ensure equal opportunities this Lok Sabha election and to release Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren immediately.

Addressing the INDIA rally in Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, Priyanka Gandhi presented five demands of the Opposition bloc. She said, "INDIA Alliance has five demands. The Election Commission should ensure equal opportunity in the Lok Sabha elections. Second, the ECI should stop the forceful action taken against the opposition by the Enforcement Directorate, CBI and IT. Third, Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal should be released immediately. Fourth, attempts to weaken the opposition financially should be stopped. Fifth, an SIT should be formed to investigate the funds raised by the Bharatiya Janata Party through electoral bonds."

Addressing at the rally, Rahul Gandhi charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to do match-fixing this Lok Sabha polls. “When pressure is put on umpires and captain, players are bought off and the match is won, in cricket, it is called match-fixing. We have Lok Sabha polls before us. Who selected the umpires? Before the match started, two players were arrested. Narendra Modi is trying to do match-fixing in these polls," Gandhi said.

 “The BJP is raising the slogan of getting 400 seats, but without EVMs, match-fixing, pressure on opposition leaders and buying media, they will not be able to cross even 180 seats,” he claimed.

 Gandhi said the Congress is the biggest opposition party in the country and all its accounts have been frozen. "This election is not just about votes it is to save the country and the Constitution," Gandhi asserted.
