A Hyderabad woman killed her teenage daughter after she found her daughter with her boyfriend at their home.
According to media reports, the woman, Mote Jangamma, hailing from Ibrahimpatnam killed her daughter Bhargavi by strangling her.
A Times of India report said the mother tried to make the death appear like suicide but the injury mark on her throat revealed that she was killed.
The mother was opposed to the relationship of her daughter with the boy. On Monday, when Jangamma found her daughter's boyfriend at home with her when she came home from the field, she was enraged.
According to police, the accused started abusing her daughter. The boy, meanwhile, rushed out of the home and informed the victim's son about it. When her brother reached home, he found the door locked. When he looked through the window, he saw their mother trying to strangle the victim.
When he knocked on the door, Jangamma came out claiming that she found her daughter unconscious with a saree around her neck.
Their relatives brought a doctor home who declared Bhargavi dead.
NDTV reported that the police said the minor brother of the victim said he was a witness to the murder and filed a complaint against her.
“All angles are being probed, including the motive behind the murder," TOI quoted Maheshwaram DCP Sunitha Reddy as saying.
