Madhya Pradesh: Girl, 4, who was rescued from borewell in Rajgarh dies

A four-year-old girl who fell into an open borewell in a field in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district on Tuesday evening dies after being rescued, said an official.

The girl who was rescued nine hours after the operation began in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. She was taken to a local hospital when she died. The girl fell into the borewell in Pipliya Rasoda village under Boda Police Station limits around 5.30pm on Tuesday.

After the girl fell, the district administration alerted the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDRF) which provided her oxygen inside the borewell shaft, he said. A team from NDRF was also at the spot.

Rajgarh collector Harsh Dikshit, SP Dharamraj Singh Meena and newly elected MLA Mohan Sharma were also at the spot to oversee the rescue operations. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Tuesday said he was in constant touch with the local administration.
