Trinamool's Derek O'Brien has been suspended from the Rajya Sabha for the rest of the Monsoon Session on Tuesday. RS chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar announced O'Brien's suspension over his “unruly behaviour”.
Leader of the House Piyush Goyal moved a motion for his suspension "for continuously disturbing the proceedings of the House, disobeying the Chair and contionusly creating disturbing in the House."
His suspension comes days after Dhankar and TMC MP had a heated argument in the Upper House of the Parliament. On Monday while discussing the Delhi Ordinance Bill, Dhankar had accused O'Brien of doing "theatrics" in the House to gain popularity.
"This has become your habit. You are doing this as part of a strategy. You think you will enjoy publicity outside. You ravaged this House," Dhankar told O'Brien, reported NDTV.
