'Saints are often described as flowing water in our country,' says PM Modi

'I hope this centre will help the youth of the country'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, inaugurated the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre in Andhra Pradesh's Puttaparthi. The inauguration was held virtually. Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, "I have seen pictures of this convention centre. This will be the centre of spiritual conferences and academic programs. Experts from all across the world will come here and I hope this centre will help the youth of the country." 

The convention centre has been constructed by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust at Prasanthi Nilayam, the main ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Funded by philanthropist Ryuko Hira, the new facility will host conferences, seminars and cultural events, including encouraging dialogue and understanding between individuals from all walks of life. 

"Saints are often described as flowing water in our country because saints never stop with their thoughts, nor do they ever stop with their actions. Continuous flow and continuous effort is the life of saints," the prime minister added. “Spiritual centres are reviving in the country, simultaneously India is leading in economy and technology,” Modi said.

Speaking of Sathya Sai Baba, he said, "I always got the blessings of Sathya Sai. Sri Sathya Sai's inspiration and blessings are with us throughout this event. I have seen the pictures of this convention centre, this centre has a feeling of spirituality and presence of modernity. It has cultural divinity as well as ideological grandeur. Scholars from all over the world from different fields will gather here."  

Talking about India's way ahead, Modi said, "India is giving top priority to its Kartavya. The next 25 years of Independence are going to be our Kartavya Kaal" 

“India today among world's top five economies,” he added, saying that, “India has the world's third largest start-up ecosystem.”

“40 per cent of the world's total online and digital transactions are done in India alone,” Modi said and praised India's competency in areas such as digital technology and 5G technology.
