Overall 87.33 pc students pass

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday declared the Class 12 results. Overall 87.33 percent students passed the examination. Thiruvananthapuram region tops the list with 99.91 percent.

According to the officials, this year there was a dip of 5.38 percent in the overall pass percentage compared to last year.

With 90.68 percent, girls outshined boys this year.

CBSE has decided not to award first, second and third division to students based on their scores.

Inorder to avoid unhealthy competition among students, no merit list will be declared by CBSE. However, the board will issue merit certificate to 0.1 per cent students who have scored the highest marks in various subjects, a senior board official said.

The pass percentage last year was 92.71 per cent. CBSE Class 12 board exams were held in February, March and April. As many as 16,96,770 students were eligible to appear for the exams.
