Days after Angkita Dutta levelled allegations of sexism against Youth Congress president Srinivas B.V., the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) issued a show-cause notice to her.

According to sources, the former president of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress is also likely to be suspended. Dutta, on Thursday, filed a complaint against Srinivas at Dispur police station in Guwahati. The show-cause notice was issued soon after by APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah. Dutta has been given two days to reply.

"@IYCPresident @srinivasiyc has continually harassed me and was discriminating on the basis of my gender. My values and education doesn't allow me anymore. The leadership has played deaf ears despite bring front of them MANY TIMES @RahulGandhi @kcvenugopalmp @priyankagandhi," Dutta wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

According to sources, CID is likely to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Srinivas based on Dutta's complaint and is likely to launch a probe into the matter. Dutta has also accused another IYC leader, Vardhan Yadav of discriminating against her based on her gender and using foul language to threaten her. Srinivas denied the charges and called the accusations 'unparliamentary and defamatory”.
