Six people have been arrested and over a 100 FIRs registered after the Delhi Police launched a massive crackdown after anti-Modi posters sprouted at various parts of the capital. Two of the arrested men are owners of a printing press.

The posters read "Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao" (remove Modi, save nation). Police said at least 2,000 posters removed and a similar number seized from a van coming out from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters on DDU Marg. The van has been simpounded.

The driver reportedly told the police that he had been instructed to deliver the posters to the AAP headquarters, adding that he delivered a similar consignment on Monday too.

According to the printing press owners, they had received an order to print 50,000 "Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao" posters. The posters, however,  did not have the name of the printing press.

Special CP Deependra Pathak told ANI that the Delhi Police registered over 100 FIRs under sections of the Printing Press Act and Defacement of Property Act.

Meanwhile, the AAM Aadmi Party has taken to Twitter to reigster its protest against the incident. The tweet, that calling the crackdown "dictatorship of Modi government is at its peak, read: "What is so objectionable in this poster that Modi ji filed 100 FIRs for putting it? PM Modi, you probably do not know but India is a democratic country. So scared of one poster! Why?"

This is the latest in the series of altercations between the Centre and the AAP-led Delhi Government. AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had lashed out at the Centre over the budget issue after the latter withheld approval for the state budget, citing allocation issues.
