AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday, thanked the people of Gujarat for helping the party to "breach" Gujarat which is considered a "fortress" of the BJP. "Hopefully, next time we will be able to win it," he said.

AAP has won four assembly seats so far and was leading on one in Gujarat where the BJP is headed for a landslide victory.

In a video message, Kejriwal said though the AAP has not won many seats in Gujarat, the votes it got helped it attain the national party status.

"I am thankful to the people of Gujarat for helping us attain the status of national party. Very few parties enjoy the status and now we are one of them. Ours is only a 10-year-old party," he said.

The Delhi CM said his party received 39,00,000 lakh votes so far.

AAP's CM face Isudan Gadhvi, who lost in the assembly election from Khambhalia by more than 18,000 votes after leading initially, said his party won the day the BJP started talking about schools in their election campaigns.

"Over 40 lakh people have voted for the AAP. We won that day itself when BJP started talking about schools. In the first go itself four-five people from our party became MLAs. That is a big feat. We will work for the people for five years," he said.
