Jammu and Kashmir's 70-year-old dream of Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan today stands fulfilled under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, said L-G Manoj Sinha. He was addressing a rally at Palli in Samba district of Jammu, organised on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day.

Welcoming PM Modi, he said that it was for the first time in the history of India that there was one flag from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, and one leader in front. He said it is for the first time that a three-tier panchayati raj system is in place.

He said that, since 1947, Jammu and Kashmir received only Rs 15,000 crore investment. However, today, the Union Territory has attracted proposals worth Rs 52,000 crores, he said.

“In the next few years, we will achieve the target of Rs 70,000 crore investment, and almost 7 to 8 lakh youth will get jobs,”  Sinha said.

Addressing the rally, Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS in PMO, said that, under the leadership of the prime minister, people of J&K are experiencing the real “self-rule”.  He said every segment is flourishing and people are reaping the dividends of peace.
