Two militants killed in encounter in J&K's Pulwama

Encounter breaks out during a search operation

Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Sunday. The identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained, police said.

The encounter broke out in the Pahoo area where the security forces were carrying out a search operation following specific inputs about the presence of militants. The hiding militants fired upon the forces, and in the ensuing exchange of fire, two ultras were killed.

On Saturday, two Pakistani militants of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district. Incriminating material and arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of the encounter and they have been taken into case records for further investigation.

On Friday, two terrorists and a CRPF soldier were killed in a gunfight that took place near an Army camp at Sunjwan in Jammu on Friday. Nine security personnel were also injured as forces engaged the terrorists after they attacked a bus carrying CISF personnel.
