A day after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray demanded that mosques should stop playing loud music, Hanuman Chalisa was played from loudspeakers at the MNS office in Mumbai's Ghatkopar, on Sunday.

Thackeray had warned that if the mosques do not stop playing loud music, there will be speakers outside mosques playing Hanuman Chalisa at higher volume.

MNS leader Mahendra Bhanushali said Mumbai Police imposed a fine of Rs 5,050 on him for playing the prayer song and issued him a notice, warning that if the music is played again, strict action will be taken. "If the MVA govt doesn't take action, Hanuman Chalisa will be played on big loudspeakers in front of mosques. Should enmity arise due to Hindu prayers? If anyone has problems with it, they should shut their ears and sit inside their houses. They will be given answers if they oppose such things...I am meeting Raj Sahab tomorrow to brief him about what happened" he said.

On Saturday, Raj Thackeray had said he is not against prayers, or any particular religion, but sought to know why loudspeakers in mosques are played at such high volume.
