On the list of instructions issued to those who will be attending the swearing-in of Yogi Adityanath are prayers from 8am to 10am.

The swearing-in of Adityanath for his second term as Uttar Pradesh chief minister is to take place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, off Lucknow’s Shaheed Path on March 25.

A list of 12 instructions for the ceremony has been issued by the BJP’s state general secretary Govind Narayan Shukla.

Point nine of the list, issued for regional/district in-charges and regional/district chairpersons, states “Before coming for the swearing-in ceremony… workers should make arrangements for and execute prayers for the welfare of the public.”

Arrangements for bringing workers to the swearing-in shall be made by MPs, MLAs and the organisation; however, workers have also been asked to use their personal vehicles where necessary.

This invitation to workers is an acknowledgement by the party of the hard work put in by them during the recently concluded Vidhan Sabha elections in which the BJP won 255 seats in the 403-member legislature. In addition to workers and people’s representatives, mayors, zila panchayat members and chairpersons of various bodies have also been invited.

Hoardings and decorations are to be put up at the main intersections and markets of all prominent marketplaces in each district. Vehicles of invitees are to bear party flags.

In addition to party workers and leaders, social workers, writers, litterateurs, professionals, doctors, engineers and sadhus-sants (priests) of various religious institutions are also to be identified by local organisations to be included in the list of invitees.

“A historic win has been registered under the guidance of the glorious leadership of the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Shri Yogi Adityanath, the hard work of the party workers and the complete cooperation of the general people of the state,” reads the letter.
