Mcap tracker: SBI, ICICI Bank gained most in Top 10, Reliance, HDFC Bank major laggards

Bharti Airtel, ITC, LIC and Infosys also soared in terms of market valuation

State Bank of India and ICICI Bank were the top gainers in terms of market capitalisation last week, which mostly witnessed a bull run on Dalal Street.

The market valuation of SBI, the largest PSU, surged by Rs 45,158.54 crore to reach Rs 7,15,218.40 crore while ICICI Bank, which is the fourth largest Indian company in terms of market cap, saw a jump of Rs 28,726.33 crore in its valuation, ending the week at Rs 7,77,750.22 crore.

Overall, the combined market cap of six of the Top 10 market heavyweights increased Rs 1,30,734.57 crore last week, pushing the BSE benchmark by 641.83 points, which translates to 0.87 per cent.

Other companies in the Top 10 that saw a rise in their market cap include Bharti Airtel, ITC, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Infosys.

Bharti Airtel's mcap touched Rs 7,51,406.35 crore last week after leaping by Rs 20,747.99 crore, while ITC soared Rs 18,914.35 crore to reach a market capitalisation of Rs 5,49,265.32 crore.

LIC valuation surged by Rs 9,487.5 crore to Rs 6,24,941.40 crore and tech giant Infosys climbed by Rs 7,699.86 crore to Rs 5,93,636.31 crore.

Four of the index heavyweights in the Top 10, including Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services and Hindustan Unilever Limited saw their mcap getting eroded last week.

Reliance Industries, the largest Indian company in terms of market cap, plunged by Rs 26,115.56 crore to Rs 19,64,079.96 crore.

The valuation of HDFC Bank, the country's largest private lender, slumped by Rs 16,371.34 crore to Rs 11,46,943.59 crore.

TCS tumbled by Rs 5,282.41 crore to Rs 13,79,522.50 crore while Hindustan Unilever diminished by Rs 2,525.81 crore to Rs 5,21,961.70 crore.

In terms of market cap, Reliance has the highest valuation, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, SBI, LIC, Infosys, ITC and Hindustan Unilever.
