In a shocking incident, a government school in Rajasthan's Alwar allegedly organised an obscene dance performance as part of its annual festival where the local MLA was the chief guest. Videos of artists performing the indecent dance in front of several students and parents have gone viral, sparking off an outrage on social media.

According to reports, local MLA Baljeet Yadav was the chief guest of the event held on March 12. The Education Department has promised a probe into the incident and strict action against those responsible.

It is alleged that the school management arranged dancers from neighbouring Haryana for the function to mobilise the crowd. Interestingly, the principal of the school has gone on leave after the incident snowballed into a controversy.

A similar incident had been reported in the state in 2017 when a village head hosted a birthday bash of his son in a school with liquor and dancing girls. The event took place in Tetaria village of Jamalpur block.

Last week, a village fest in Karnataka's Mandya courted controversy after videos and photos of scantily clad women conducting a dance performance went viral on social media. The incident, which unfortunately took place on the International Women's Day on March 10, was reported from Nagamangala village.
