Twenty six-year old Aritha Babu, the youngest candidate in fray in the Kerala assembly elections, must have had a dream-come-true moment as she sat atop a moving vehicle alongside Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at Kayamkulam in Kerala on Tuesday. However, the UDF candidate was in for more surprises after the Gandhi scion asked Babu about where she stayed.

On learning that her house was not far from where they campaigned, the AICC general secretary quickly requested a detour even as other vehicles moved ahead as planned in the campaign trail. Realising that Priyanka was headed to her home, Babu dialed her family members who were away to see the daughter of the house campaigning alongside the national leader.

But Priyanka, who reached the house along with Aritha before the Babu family, waited patiently for their return. Meanwhile, a large crowd gathered near the house with even Priyanka's security found it difficult to handle it. Soon, Babu's parents, brother, sister-in-law and nephew reached the home. The Congress leader chatted with the family members for almost 15 minutes and even took a selfie with the family on her phone camera. She even obliged to requests for selfies from the crowd.

Priyanka began the campaign for the April 6 assembly polls in Kerala, by taking out a road show meandering through this ancient maritime trading town in Alappuzha district, seeking votes for the party candidate. Clad in a yellow salwar kameez, she was seen waving to the jostling crowd of people lined up on both sides of the road and also shook hands with many enthusiastic voters. She addressed a rally later in the day.
