Stones were pelted at a convoy carrying BJP chief J.P. Nadda in the Diamond Harbour area on Thursday, hours after a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah alleged security lapses by the state government during Nadda's visit.
West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh had expressed concern in his letter to Shah that "goons" of the ruling Trinamool Congress could attempt to stage protests during events involving Nadda on Thursday.
News agency ANI reported "Protesters attempted to block a road in Diamond Harbour from where BJP president J.P. Nadda's convoy was passing; protesters also pelted stones at his convoy." Nadda was going to South 24 Parganas district to address a meeting of BJP workers.
