Gujarat bypolls: BJP wins Kheralu; Raghu Desai extends lead against Alpesh Thakor

In Lunawada, BJP's Sevak is leading against Congress's Chauhan by over 13,000 votes

BJP candidate Ajmalji Valaji Thakor has won from Kheralu assembly seat in Gujarat. With this BJP has won in one seat and is leading in three other constituencies, including Tharad and Lunawada where it has forayed Patel Jivrajbhai Jagtabhai and Jigneshkumar Sevak respectively.

Nitin Patel was appointed the party in-charge for Kheralu seat, which is located in Mahesana district.

At the same time, Congress turncoats Alpesh Thakor and his aide Dhavalsinh Zala are trailing from Radhanpur and Bayad seats. Byelections were necessitated in Radhanpur and Bayad after their respective sitting Congress MLAs Alpesh Thakor and Dhavalsinh Zala defected to the ruling BJP. 

BJP gave tickets to both Thakor and Zala. Thakor is currently trailing behind Congress' Raghu Desai by 6,500 votes. In Bayad (Arvalli), Zala is trailing behind Congress' Jasu Patel by over 5,500 votes.

Meanwhile, in Ahmedabad's Amraiwadi seat, which saw the lowest voter turnout, the Congress candidate is now leading by over 5,200 votes. 

In Lunawada, BJP's Sevak is leading against Congress's Gulabsinh Chauhan by over 13,000 votes, while in Tharad, Jagtabhai is ahead of Congress's Rajput Gulabsinh Pirabhai by over 2,800 votes.
