The state goes to polls on October 21

The campaigning ended on Saturday evening for the assembly elections in Haryana where the main contest is seen between the ruling BJP, opposition Congress and the Jannayak Janata Party.

Whil the BJP is hoping to retain power in the state, it is being challenged by a fractured opposition. This is the first election after Dushyant Chautala formed Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) after splitting from his grandfather's Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in 2018. Meanwhile, the Shiromani Akali Dal has allied with the INLD.

The state goes to polls on October 21 and the counting will take place on October 24.
