A CRPF jawan was killed and three others injured during an encounter with militants in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday afternoon. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Babagund area of Pulwama on information about the presence of militants. An encounter broke out after the militants opened fire at the forces.
Unconfirmed reports said that two militants were also killed in the encounter.
