More than a week after the tragic Pulwama attack which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF men, Karachi Bakery in Bengaluru was forced to cover up its name for its connection with Pakistan.

On Friday evening, a mob of 20 men gathered in front of the bakery in Indiranagar and demanded that the establishment change its name. They raised slogans but refrained from any violent acts.

The staff covered up the portion of the board which said 'Karachi' and even put up an Indian flag at the shop.

The bakery was started by Khanchand Ramnami, a Sindhi Partition survivor, in 1952 after he migrated to Hyderabad. It is famous for its fruity biscuits and other baked goods.

This incident is a follow up of the attack against Kashmiris across the nation, after the Pulwama attack. Only yesterday, the Supreme Court had directed the central and state governments to act against the harassment and attacks on Kashmiris across the nation.
