Two BJP ministers, who had attended a rally in support of the Kathua rape accused, on Friday resigned from the Mehbooba Mufti government, an official statement said.
Forest Minister Lal Singh Chaudhary and Industries Minister Chander Prakash Ganga had participated in the rally and supported the demand by Hindu Ekta Manch for CBI probe into the murder and rape of minor girl whose body was found in the forest at Rasana village of Hiranagar in Kathua on January 17, seven days after she went missing from her home at Kota.
The state police crime branch, which probed the case, filed a main chargesheet against seven accused persons and a separate chargesheet against a juvenile in a court in Kathua district earlier this week.
The chargesheet revealed chilling details about how the girl was allegedly kidnapped, drugged, raped inside a place of worship before being killed.
