Several parents of the students at a CBSE school in Pune staged protests against what they allege as the arbitrary decisions of the school authorities regarding fee payments.

Parents allege that they had received letters from the Global Indian International School management regarding the late fee which, they say, is violating the existing norms. The school has reportedly asked parents to pay an additional amount of Rs 200 per day—including for Sundays and holidays—in case they fail to pay the fee in time.

“The school authorities are sending threatening email saying they would issue the transfer certificate (TC) of the students if the parents fail to pay the late fee,” one of the parents told Mirror Now channel.

They also allege that the management is not accepting their monthly installment without late fee.

Around 2,000 students are likely to be affected by the school management's decision.

“We have been asking the question since July 2017 that on what basis the school is charging late fee to us, for which we have not received any answer,” says another perent.

They are also protesting against the steep hike in fee amount. The enrolment fee has been hiked from 25 per cent to 50 per cent in a span of two years, the parents allege.
